How to back up a MongoDB database?

Regular backups are automatically taken in M-Clusters. For detailed information about how to back up a database manually, please find steps below:

1. Find the target MongoDB deployment

Log in to the Control Panel and locate your target application from all applications listed.

2. Navigate to the Backup page

Click on “DB & User”tab after entering into the details page of the application. Click on the database you would like to back up, then you will find the “BACKUPS” tab.

3. Back up your data

Click on "BACKUPS" in the menu bar and then "TAKE A BACKUP". A confirmation box will be popped up after that. You are free to rename the backup. Click on "Back up" to start the backup process. You can get your backup in seconds.

How to Restore a MongoDB Backup?

In M-Clusters, free MongoDB restoration is available. To restore your data on MongoDB instance from a selected backup, please follow these steps:

1. Find your target MongoDB deployment

Log in to the Control Panel and locate your target application from all applications listed.

2. Locate your backup file

Click on the "BACKUPS" tab to view previous backups. Locate the one you want to restore.

3. Restore your data

Choose the backup file and click on the “Restore” icon in the end, then a confirmation box will be popped up. It's important to confirm if you want to back up your current data before restoration. After that, click on "RESTORE" to start the process. It will not take you long to finish the restoration.
